General questions
What areas do you cover?
We are based in Haslingden, Rossendale and cover the whole of Lancashire and Greater Manchester, including Burnley, Blackburn, Bury, Bolton, Preston, Manchester, Salford and Rochdale. If your town is not listed, ask; there is a good chance we can help.
Are your cleaning methods safe for my property?
Yes. We match the method to the surface: steam, hand scraping and low-pressure soft washing on roofs and render, pressure washing at the right setting on driveways and patios, and pure water only on windows and solar panels. We never use high pressure on roofs or render.
Do you offer free quotes?
Yes. Send a couple of photos and your postcode through the quote form, or call 07462 842093. Quotes are fixed, usually sent the same day, with no hidden fees. Larger and commercial jobs get a site visit first.
Are you fully insured?
Yes. Hydro Cleanse carries full public liability insurance, and we provide risk assessments and method statements (RAMS) for commercial work on request.
Roof cleaning & moss removal
Will the cleaning process damage my tiles?
No. We use steam, hand scraping and low-pressure soft washing only. Nobody walks on the roof and no high-pressure water is used, so there is no risk of cracked, dislodged or stripped tiles.
Do you pressure wash roofs to remove moss?
No, never. Roofs are steam cleaned or hand scraped, then soft washed.
How long does the biocide treatment take to work?
The roof looks better the same day once the moss is removed. The biocide then keeps working for weeks, and the remaining dead growth washes away with the weather over the following months.
Do you guarantee your roof cleaning against moss returning?
Yes. Every roof clean comes with a 2-year no-moss guarantee. If moss returns within two years of our treatment we come back and re-treat the affected area free of charge.
Do I need scaffolding?
Usually not. We work from our own mobile scaffold tower and extendable poles, which is why our quotes do not include hire costs for scaffolding or a cherry picker.
What happens to the mess that falls off the roof?
We clear it. Paths, drives, patios and drains are cleaned before we leave, and the gutters are cleared as part of the job.
Driveway & patio cleaning
What surfaces can you clean?
Block paving, tarmac, concrete, imprinted concrete, Indian stone, flags, natural stone and decking. Each gets the pressure and nozzle that suits it.
Do you re-sand and seal?
Yes. Re-sanding of block paving joints is part of the job, and sealing is an option we recommend for block paving and Indian stone.
Can you remove oil stains?
Most oil, rust and tyre marks can be lifted or greatly reduced with the right treatment. Very old, deep oil stains may lighten rather than disappear completely, and we will tell you which before we start.
How long will it stay clean?
With the biocide treatment, typically a year or two before green growth starts to return, longer if sealed. An annual clean keeps it looking new.
Solar panel cleaning
How often should solar panels be cleaned?
Once a year for most homes, twice a year near farmland, busy roads or where birds are a problem.
Do you use tap water to clean solar panels?
No. We use purified (de-ionised) water fed through soft brushes on a pole. Tap water leaves mineral spots as it dries; pure water dries clear, with no chemicals and no pressure washer.
Will it void my warranty?
No. Manufacturers expect panels to be kept clean; the risk to a warranty comes from abrasive or chemical cleaning, which we never use.
Commercial cleaning
Can you work out of hours?
Yes. Evenings, nights and weekends are common for retail, schools and healthcare sites.
Do you provide RAMS?
Yes, risk assessments and method statements come with every commercial job, along with our insurance documents.
Do you offer maintenance contracts?
Yes. Most commercial clients move to a scheduled plan for gutters, windows, solar and car parks once the first clean is done.
