What a clean building does for a business

Green cladding, a mossy car park and overflowing gutters tell customers, tenants and staff more about a business than the sign does. Cladding, render and roof cleaning on commercial units

Composite cladding and rendered elevations go green on the north side and black under the drips within a few years in this climate. We soft wash them with a biocide at low pressure, from the ground, a tower or a lift where the height needs it, so the coating is not damaged and the growth is killed rather than smeared. Moss on the roofs of industrial units blocks the gutters and valleys and is the usual cause of leaks over the racking; we remove it and treat the roof the same way we do a house, without high pressure. Car parks, forecourts, walkways and gutters

Car parks, forecourts, loading bays, fire escapes, walkways and bin stores are pressure washed with commercial equipment, with chewing gum, oil and graffiti dealt with as part of the job. Slippery walkways are a liability issue as much as a cosmetic one, and a biocide treatment after the wash keeps them safe for longer. Commercial gutters are cleared by vacuum with a camera survey before and after, so you get a report showing the run is clear, and downpipes and hoppers are unblocked at the same time. Windows and glazing and solar arrays are cleaned with pure water on a schedule that suits the site.

How we work on site

Every commercial job starts with a site visit and a written scope, and comes with risk assessments, method statements and our insurance documents. Work is booked around deliveries, opening hours and site rules, and evenings, nights and weekends are normal for retail, schools and healthcare. Operatives are uniformed and trained, the site is left as we found it, and you get before and after photos and a walk-round if you want one. Most clients move to a scheduled plan for gutters, windows, solar and car parks once the first clean is done, which is cheaper per visit and means the building never gets to the state that prompted the first call.
